Current Read: Cujo

cujo

Goodreads Synopsis: Outside a peaceful town in central Maine, a monster is waiting. Cujo is a two-hundred-pound Saint Bernard, the best friend Brett Camber has ever had. One day Cujo chases a rabbit into a bolt-hole – a cave inhabited by sick bats. What happens to Cujo, how he becomes a horrifying vortex inexorably drawing in all the people around him makes for one of the most heart-stopping novels Stephen King has written

I’ve only read one other Stephen King book and this one is a lot better than “The Eyes of The Dragon”. Maybe medieval fantasy isn’t King’s thing? Anyway, the book gets off to a pretty slow start which I didn’t mind too much since it set up the story pretty well and now I get why it was slow. There were only two things that I didn’t like the book: it didn’t have chapters and sometimes I got mixed up with who’s story was who’s, but I got used to it so I don’t mind it anymore. Clearly from the title I haven’t finished reading the book but so far so, the dogs’ only been mentioned like a handful of times at this point.

I feel like its one of those stories where the thing  thats supposed to be bad isn’t as bad as the other characters make it out to be, its really just their imagination running wild from the fear that they’re feeling and thats whats making the things seem so bad. Then again I  am about a couple 100 pages away from finishing the book so Cujo could be just as bad and scary as they make him to be. I’ll update this once I finish the book. I just hope that this book does leave me disappointed like “The Eyes of The Dragon”
